Project Background

Development of intelligent robot to autonomously navigate and charge electric vehicles using machine vision, LiDAR and GPS technologies while avoiding collision with obstacles in its path. Development of architecture to be flexible to readily adapt to other applications for unstructured environments.

We thoroughly understood our customer’s mandate and assembled a a highly talented multidisciplinary team with expertise in product design, embedded systems, robotics, autonomous navigation and machine vision. We synthesized very innovative concepts and undertook detailed design for this very complex project. What we did

This redesign of the mass transit video reader was led by our VA/VE program managers due to the very demanding requirements from our customer for a 50% cost reduction. Our delivery team was composed of specialists in the areas of product design, embedded systems, optics, software development, VA/VE, data analytics and global sourcing. The redesign effort was concurrently supported by should costing analysis in order to provide the program managers a real time view of target achievement. We successfully completed the prototyping, testing and validation of the video reader and provided our customer savings of $425, well over their 50% target.

Upon the completion of this very innovative cutting-edge technology project our customer was able to win very sizeable business and appreciated the creativity and real-life expertise we were able to bring to this project.
