Design and homologation of the US vocational truck chassis for introduction into the Canadian market

Our Scope

Our Scope involved design of new chassis for all Canadian market product variants and to address compliance gaps identified in Canadian certification requirements

  • Concept: Packaging Studies and Preliminary FMEA Activities, Feasibility Studies, Selecting Suppliers, Choosing Design Direction for Each Identified Issue and Specification Requirements
  • Primary Design: Working with Suppliers to Develop Production Solution, Developing CAD Models, Performing Installation and Maintenance Studies on Both Mechanical and Electrical Subsystems
  • Production Release: Creating, Validating and Releasing Production Drawings and Documentation Within PDM
  • Build: Overseeing First Build of the Vehicle from An Engineering Perspective to Ensure Design Intent is Adhered to. Identify and Evaluate Critical Build Areas
  • Test: Identification and Mitigation of Risks. Production and Management of Design Validation Plan and Reports Through the Testing Process and Evaluating All Test Results
  • Certification: Preparation of Compliance Documents. Submittal of Documents to Canadian Authorities and Management of Submittal Process
